The Board of Adjustments will hold a special-called meeting on Thursday, May 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 160 Walker Drive, with social distancing guidelines in place:

  • A variance request by Tim Baswell, located at 737 Cross St., for an accessory structure to be placed in the front yard of his residence due to the nature of his property.

A public hearing will be held for the above-mentioned agenda item prior to consideration at the meeting on May 27th

MEETING POSTPONED TO JUNE 10th


The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a regularly scheduled meeting and work session at 6:00 p.m. on June 15, 2021 at City Hall located at 160 Walker Drive to discuss general items of the city and the following:

  • Penalty Review for transferring lot in unapproved subdivision, Subdivision Regulations Article X
  • Subdivision Regulation amendment to address proper building identification regulations in new subdivision developments which are required by USPS to use cluster boxes.
  • Subdivision Regulation amendment to provide special review and requirements for additional means of egress in new subdivision developments.
  • Zoning Ordinance amendment to review appropriate building materials for accessory structures.
  • Zoning Ordinance amendment to review allowable fence height for residential properties who abut commercial or industrial districts and/or railroad tracks.

A public hearing for the previous agenda items will be held prior to consideration by the Commission during the Planning and Zoning meeting on June 15th in the Council Chambers of City Hall (160 Walker Drive).
